A handsome, 18th-century, listed building of character, Borrodale House is decorated and furnished in keeping with its style, creating a peaceful, light yet cosy atmosphere. The house is comfortably appointed for self-catering groups of up to 16.
Borrodale Bay, just a short walk from the house, is the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on the Scottish mainland on the 25th July 1745. One year later saw the Prince fleeing from the forces of King George, and he returned briefly to Borrodale before leaving for the Hebrides: the original house was then burnt down in 1746.
Just a ten-minute walk along a sweeping pasture to the shores of Loch nan Uamh in the Sound of Arisaig affords the visitor some of the finest west coast views, sweeping down from the Isle of Eigg to Ardnamurchan Point and beyond.
The area boasts many lovely, white sand beaches, classic mountain and hill walks, and opportunities for sailing, skiing, fishing and golf.
