Gorgeous cottage in the peaceful Strathconon glen

One of three gorgeous stone cottages in this peaceful glen, two of which are available for by far the best self-catering in the area!

Although easily accessible from Dingwall and Inverness, Strathconon feels for all the world like a west coast Highland glen with its heather-clad hills, birch woodland, wide salmon rivers, golden eagles, and evergreen pine forests. Days can be spent wandering through this magical place without seeing another soul - or you can head to the coast and the beaches.

Strathpeffer, just a 15-minute drive away, is a Victorian spa town with the original Spa Pavilion renovated to provide a venue for functions and events, and incorporating the acclaimed Red Poppy Restaurant. There is a golf course open to visitors, and several hotels with restaurants open to the public.

Bikes can be hired from Square Wheels Cycles, which you will find in the village square, and can be delivered to the cottage for your arrival.

Newly refurbished in 2008, Stable Cottage is one of a trio of traditional stone-built cottages, two of which are available for self catering: Scatwell Coach House (sleeps 5) is the second cottage. Both properties are very comfortably appointed and furnished, but each is quite individual.

Please note that there is an unfenced lochan in front of the house that does not form part of the letting property. It is very pretty to look at but children would need to be supervised if they were outside. There is, however, an enclosed and safe garden for them to play in.
