Strathhaugh enjoys an idyllic lakeside setting at the foot of the Grampian Mountains. This pretty, detached cottage within a large, enclosed garden is ideal for families and is surrounded by 12-acre grounds.
The house is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, providing a warm, cosy and relaxing environment.
There is a large lake in front of the house in which it is possible to swim, and the banks have been planted with many different shrubs and flowers. The garden is especially attractive to wildlife and within the grounds there are swans, otters, red squirrels, a heronry and a resident osprey! This is paradise for birdwatchers with over 100 species recorded, and horticulturalists will delight in the 180 different species rhododendrons.
For those with an interest in Scottish history, the area abounds in castles open to the public and historic houses and gardens. Going further back in time, this area of Aberdeenshire is famous for its many stone circles and recumbent stones dating back 5,000 years.
Aberdeen is just a 30-minute drive, and sandy beaches can be found a 40-minute drive away. Inverurie is the nearest market town.
